The 1st edition game design started one and half years ago, and I’ve been improve and test the balance and system playability since then. After this website published I hope I could update the new changes in this log to keep tracking.
The current battle system is almost complete, but I’ll keep it secret for now. However the gameplay still have a lot to work on, since I overturned my old design a few months ago, I need to find a way to balance between continuous time and discrete time.
publicly available information:
it will be a pvp (&ve probably) game, 4 players on each side with different roles.
it will be a chess game, characters are standing on hex grids.
it will also be a card game, where players can build their own deck and perks.
the reaction mechanism will need more test.
use chess and card to simulate the battle, cards are special or basic actions character would take in real life, but player can have more time to make decisions than the traditional QTE games.
it will be shared turns (this is my favorites design, and the reason why I want to stick with cards and chess), it will be competitive.
even though it’s turn-based game, player’s view will like a 3rd person RPG, since I hope players can substitute into the characters and analysis their current circumstance.
